SYANGJA, June 18: Nepali Congress Ward Chairperson of Waling Municipality-10, Sunil Khanal, has allegedly assaulted Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leaders Megh Ale and Dinkar Nepal, leaving both severely injured.
According to RSP acting spokesperson Manish Jha, the attack occurred while Ale and Nepal were protesting against excessive exploitation of natural resources in the Andhikhola River and urging authorities to prevent possible environmental disasters in the area.

Dinkar Nepal, one of the victims, stated that Khanal struck him with an iron rod. As a result of the attack, Nepal's helmet was shattered and he suffered a fracture in his right arm. Megh Ale also sustained injuries during the incident. Both leaders are currently being taken to a hospital in Pokhara for treatment.
“This violent and criminal attack was carried out out of fear that RSP will bring an end to the prevailing kleptocracy in the country,” said RSP spokesperson Jha. “We strongly condemn this heinous act and demand the immediate arrest and maximum legal action against all those involved.”
